Lactium®: dosage

Stress is a part of our daily lives and can affect our quality of life and health if it persists for too long. Many solutions exist to help manage it, among which Lactium® stands out for its gentle, natural approach.

Lactium® is a milk protein hydrolysate containing alpha-casozepine, a bioactive decapeptide with relaxing properties. It binds to GABA receptors in the brain, thus reducing stress symptoms.

However, to ensure optimal effectiveness, a few tips may be helpful.

Recommended Dosage of Lactium®

The dosage of Lactium® can vary depending on several factors, including the intensity of stress and the individual’s age. In fact, Lactium® can be suitable for all family members, with an appropriate dose.

How to Take Lactium®?

Lactium® is a natural-origin ingredient that is easy to formulate and is included in many dietary supplements, functional foods, and beverages. This variety caters to individual needs and preferences.

Dietary supplements containing Lactium® are most commonly available as capsules and tablets. For those with swallowing difficulties or seeking convenience, there are also liquid forms or powders that can be mixed with food.

When to Take Lactium®?

  • Acute Stress:

This type of stress occurs when we have a predictable, short-term event, such as an exam, interview, presentation, important meeting, etc. This type of stress generally disappears once the situation is resolved and does not have a long-term impact on our health, unlike chronic stress. For optimal effectiveness during acute stress: It is recommended to take Lactium® 1 to 2 hours in the evening before going to bed and then 1 to 2 hours before the event.

  • Chronic Stress:

Chronic stress develops over time. It can be caused by difficult life situations, such as a negative work environment, financial/family problems, or strained interpersonal relationships. Prolonged stress can have more serious repercussions on your health. To manage chronic stress: It is recommended to take Lactium® in the morning, but at least once in the morning, if you drink coffee (as coffee reduces the effectiveness of Lactium®).

  • Sleep:

Stress can affect sleep: restlessness, nightmares, and insomnia… Yet sleep is essential for our metabolism, weight management, immunity, and cognitive function. Lack of sleep makes us more irritable and also negatively impacts interpersonal relationships. To improve sleep quality: It is recommended to take Lactium® approximately 1 to 2 hours before bedtime.

Lactium® has been shown to act within 90 to 120 minutes after consumption. However, the feeling of well-being generally appears after 1 to 2 weeks of supplementation, depending on the dosage.

If you forget to take Lactium® or stop taking it, its effects quickly fade. If forgotten, you can resume the regimen as usual the next day.

Are There Any Side Effects?

Lactium® does not cause side effects: no dependency, sedation, drowsiness, or memory loss. Additionally, it does not reduce attention or alertness. Unlike benzodiazepines, which are known for their side effects, Lactium® causes no addiction.

Lactium® can be used by children, pregnant women, and seniors. Furthermore, it is safe for people who are lactose intolerant as it contains less than 1% lactose.

Important Note: Consuming stimulants such as coffee tends to reduce the effects of Lactium®. Since caffeine affects GABA receptors, it is recommended to take Lactium® several hours after drinking coffee to ensure its effectiveness.
