picto-jaime Lactium® : the alpha-casozepine with relaxing properties

Lactium® is the ideal companion to help you gently manage your emotional state. Clinically proven to be effective in numerous studies, its dosage can be tailored to your specific needs.

LACTIUM® and anxiety

Do you occasionally, or even regularly, feel tense ? Have you already experienced symptoms such as snacking, stomachaches or headaches, fatigue, difficulty sleeping, loss of libido, anxiety before boarding a plane, etc.?  Taking Lactium® as a preventive measure can give you more control over your emotions.
Lactium® acts effectively and naturally on the central nervous system thanks to decapeptide called alpha-casozepine.

It has no side-effects, and is not addictive. Lactium® is a hydrolyzed milk protein and is hypoallergenic. Unlike benzodiazepines, which belong to the anxiolytics family, Lactium® does not have any toxic effect on the body, even at high doses. It is completely natural, and therefore totally harmless.

The effectiveness of Lactium® has been the subject of 9 rigorous clinical studies, conducted between 1999 and 2021 on more than 500 adult volunteers, all supervised by healthcare professionals. These studies were carried out according to the Clinical Best Practice Directive and under the supervision of official ethics committees, and used biological means to confirm the positive impact of Lactium® on the body (blood pressure and heart rate). Many people around the world now use Lactium® every day, including Patricia, a 38-year-old working woman: “I sleep longer and better. Everyday problems are now less important to me.”

Lactium® contains a decapeptide called alpha-casozepine. Alpha-casozepine is derived from the hydrolysis of alpha S1 casein and corresponds to the f91-100 fraction. The Nancy Universtity researchers determined that alpha-casozepine has relaxing properties, thanks to a structure similar to benzodiazepines. The peptide binds to GABAa receptors via the benzodiazepine site.

The results of two studies by CRSSA(1) and DAACRO, carried out successively in 2001 and 2016, attest to the clinical efficacy of Lactium®. The studies induced stress in volunteers using the Stroop or Trier social stress test, a validated psychological test of resistance to stress.

Two groups were created for each of these studies:

  • a “Placebo” group which was administered a placebo in the same quantities and at the same frequencies,
  • a “Lactium®” group, to which the researchers gave a dose of Lactium® at a pre-determined frequency.

The CRSSA study was conducted over 30 days with the recommended dose of 150 mg/day of Lactium® on 52 volunteers in perfect health (25 men and 27 women aged 18 to 40, selected at random). The results following the Stroop test showed a reduction in blood pressure for the group which used Lactium®, the physiological response to stress being an increase in blood pressure.

Lactium® is the ideal companion to help you gently manage your emotional state. Its effectiveness has been clinically proven in numerous studies, so we can now recommend doses tailored to your needs.

In 2016, the DAACRO study focused this time – under the conditions of the trier social stress test – on measuring the increase in cortisol on waking. Lactium® 300 mg/day taken for 30 days by 50 volunteers (50 volunteers per group) was shown to improve anticipation of stress before the trier social stress test.
